Pathways for limited registration for postgraduate training or supervised practice

  • enrolment in one or more of the following for the purpose of gaining registration in Australia:
    • any examination required by the Board for registration under section 53(c) of the National Law.
  • appropriately qualified, overseas-trained dental practitioners who do not qualify for general registration and who wish to apply for limited registration to undertake postgraduate training under section 66 of the National Law. More information about Approved Programs of Study can be found under the Accreditation section.

    Please note
that a previous limited registration pathway, the Public Sector Dental Workforce Scheme (PSDWS), has closed. The PSDWS pathway closed 1 January 2020, new applications are not accepted under this pathway. Further details can be found in the Board's 30 November 2018 Communique. Although the Limited registration for postgraduate training or supervised practice (section 66) registration standard provides detail regarding an ‘employment relationship with an appropriate public sector program’ there are no current programs within Australia.
