Renewal of dental practitioner registration

The following frequently asked questions (FAQ) answer questions specific to Dental practitioners’ registration renewal.

You are due to renew your registration with the Dental Board of Australia (National Board) annually by 30 November.

Look out for a reminder to renew from AHPRA as confirmation that online renewal is open. You will get email reminders several times during the renewal period, so use our online services to check that AHPRA has your current contact details. Be sure to check the national register to confirm your registration details.

 

Yes. The Board requires dental practitioners on the specialist register to maintain both general and specialist registration.

Yes. To maintain registration in each division you must have practised dentistry in each division in the previous five years.

If you are applying for renewal of your endorsement for conscious sedation, you must attach a certified copy of the attendance certificate from a Board-approved refresher course as evidence that you have attended in the past 12 months.
