Webinar

The Dental Board of Australia has published a recording of a presentation planned for the ‘know your scope’ stakeholder forums which are on hold. Scheduled for every state and territory, the forums were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The presentation by Board Chair, Dr Murray Thomas, explains what the revised Scope of practice registration standard means for dental practitioners. The new standard is in effect on 1 July 2020.

The stakeholder forum presentation is now available to watch as a recording of a webinar presentation.

You can also view the presentation slides without audio:

Clarification of content on slide 15: Dental practitioners must only perform dental treatment for which they have been educated and trained and in which they are competent. The Dental Board of Australia has approved programs of study making graduates eligible for registration as a dental practitioner since the start of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme in July 2010.

Online Q&A sessions

Online Q&A sessions will be held in June to answer questions you may still have after watching the presentation recording and reading FAQs about the revised standard for scope of practice.

Participants must register for each Q&A session which will last about one hour.
